The scheme "Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad", offered by the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, provides financial assistance to eligible students. Every year, 20 students can avail of this benefit, provided their family income from all sources does not exceed ₹8 lakh. To qualify, applicants must have at least 75% marks in a postgraduate examination in the relevant subject and either two years of teaching experience or an M.Phil degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university or government college in Madhya Pradesh.

Eligibility
- The applicant should be a native of Madhya Pradesh.
- The applicant should be seeking a postgraduate degree with at least 75% marks in their graduation from a recognized university/institute in Madhya Pradesh.
- The applicant should have an annual family income not exceeding ₹8 lakh from all sources.
- The applicant should be under 25 years of age for postgraduate studies and under 35 years of age for PhD research.
- The applicant should have secured admission to a study program abroad.
- The applicant should have qualified for international tests such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, or IELTS.
- The applicant should be pursuing a PhD and have:
- 75% marks in postgraduate studies in the relevant subject.
- Two years of teaching experience or an M.Phil degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university or government college in Madhya Pradesh.
Application Process
Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should visit (during office hours) the Commissioner Higher Education for new education and concerned Regional Additional Director, and request the hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the concerned authority.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the authority.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
