The "Scheme to Provide Assistance to Sate Market Committees as well as Taluka-District Co-operative Purchase and Sale Union to Construct Large Size Warehouse Godowns" introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department, Gujarat, aims to address the storage needs of farmers through providing financial assistance for warehouse godowns construction within market committees. This will allow farmers to store their produce during the harvest season when prices are low and sell it later when market prices improve.

Eligibility

  • All State Market Committees in Gujarat are eligible to apply.
  • The godowns must be used exclusively for the storage of farmers' produce.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The market committee must identify land for constructing the warehouse.
Step 2: Engineers from the approved panel will prepare maps and estimates based on the uniform design set by the Director of Agricultural Marketing and Rural Finance, Gujarat.
Step 3: The Managing Director, Gujarat Agricultural Marketing Board, will oversee implementation.
Step 4: The beneficiary must hire government-approved contractors of class "AA" to "D" for construction.
Step 5: The construction work must be carried out through the e-tendering process.
