"Scheme of Death Benefit for Weavers & Artisans of West Bengal" is a social welfare scheme launched by the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal on 7th March, 2024, and shall remain in force for a period of five years. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to the family of the deceased weaver /artisan.

- ₹2 00 000/- only per deceased Weaver/ Artisan
₹2,00,000/- only per deceased Weaver/ Artisan.
Eligibility
- The age of the deceased artisan/weaver was between 18 to 60 years on the date of death.
- The artisan/weaver has expired on or after the Date of Notification (7th March, 2024).
- The claimant should have not availed any other death benefit scheme by the State Government.

Application Process
Offline
- The eligible claimant for the deceased artisan/weaver should collect and submit the application in prescribed format with all requisite enclosures at the earliest to the local BDO/SDO office of the concerned Block/Municipal Corporation area.
Note:
- The application must be submitted within 3 months of the death of the - artisan/weaver.
- After expiry of the artisan/weaver, the claimant(s) of the benefit should produce a certificate from the local BDO regarding his eligibility of claim (form to be drafted).
