Details
The “Scheme for Management and Purchase of Bulls Provided for Breeding of State Gir/ Kankarej Breed” launched by the Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, Government of Gujarat, aims to support pure breeding of Gir and Kankrej cows by providing financial assistance for purchasing and maintaining high-quality bulls. The goal is to enhance calf quality and gradually increase milk production in rural areas by promoting native breed development.
Benefits
- - In Case the bull is provided by the Board: ₹1,18,000/- in the first year.- In Case the bull is purchased by the organization: ₹1,43,000/- in the first year.- Maintenance support: ₹64,800/- for the second and third year. Note: Assistance provided for three years per eligible organization

Eligibility
- A Gram Panchayat or a Gaushala registered must be registered under the Charity Act.
- The Gram Panchayat or a Gaushala must have a minimum of 100 breedable cows.
Note: If there is not sufficient number of breeding cows in a single village, then the breeding cows of the neighboring villages should be covered and a guarantee should be given.
Application Process
Online
Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at I-Khedut Portal: https://ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in/
Step 2: On the home page, click on ‘Schemes’ and then click on ‘Animal Husbandry Schemes’.
Step 3: Now select the scheme, click on the ‘Apply’ button and an application page will open.
Step 4: Click on "Apply New" button and submit a new application.
Step 5: Click on the "Update Application" button to add corrections to the application.
Step 6: Once the application is done, confirm it.
Step 7: Take a print out of the online application and submit it to the board within 30 days of application with the signature and stamp of the GGVB’s nodal officer of the concerned district with the necessary documents listed in the application.
