Details
The scheme "Scheme for Giving Stipend to the Trainees Belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Community Enrolled under Various Labour Welfare Centres in the State of Goa" was launched by the Department of Labour, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to give benefits under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan to the trainees belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Community enrolled under various Labour Welfare Centres operating in different parts of Goa. The objective of the program is to train members of industrial workers in crafts like embroidery, needle work, cutting, and tailoring so that they become self-employed and earn income to help their families.
Benefits
- - A stipend of ₹1,000/- per month shall be provided to the eligible applicant/trainee
- The scheme& 39;s main objective is to train the members of Industrial workers so that they become self-employed. Trainees can earn to some extent to help their family

- The period of stipend will commence from July to April of a particular academic year. If the attendance of the applicant/trainee is less than 75% for a particular month, no stipend will be paid to that trainee

Eligibility
- The applicant must be enrolled under the respective Labour Welfare Centre for a particular academic year.
- The applicant must have resided in Goa for atleast 15 years.
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Community.
- The applicant must not have any source of income of her own.
- The applicant must not be owing business.
- The applicant must not be drawing any stipend from any other source.
Exclusions
Application Process
Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form. Alternatively, the applicant can obtain the application form from the concerned Sewing Mistress of the respective Labour Welfare Centre where the training is being imparted.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, Panaji. This submission must be routed through the concerned Labour Inspector of the area.
Approval
The application to claim the benefits under the scheme shall be reviewed and must be approved by the Commissioner, Labour and Employment.
Stipend Disbursement
The stipend of ₹1,000/- per month shall be paid to the approved applicant/trainee commencing from July to April of that particular academic year, provided the attendance requirements are met.
