The Scheme for Fruit and Vegetable Preservation and Training Program in the Horticulture Department aims to train women in value addition, canning, kitchen gardening, and other aspects of horticultural crops over a period of two to five days. The sanctioned training expenditure is Rs. 500 per day per trainee, which includes a stipend of Rs. 250 for the trainee, while the remaining Rs. 250 covers material costs, training literature kits, and honorarium for experts. Additionally, under the Urban Green Mission Program (Gardener Training), necessary training is provided on the preservation, cultivation, and value addition of horticultural produce, ensuring that citizens receive clean, fresh fruits and vegetables at their doorsteps.
