Details

The "Scheme for Assistance for Research & Development Activities" is an umbrella scheme launched by the Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat under the Gujarat Industrial Policy. Effective from August 7th, 2020 to August 6th, 2025, this initiative promotes sustainable industrial growth by supporting industries in adopting eco-friendly practices and ensuring compliance with environmental norms.
The component "Assistance for Contract/Sponsored Research Work" provides financial support to eligible institutions for establishing R&D or product development centers. It aims to promote innovation, technological advancements, and product design improvements.

Benefits

Eligibility

Eligible institution:

  1. All Research and Development Institutions recognized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) / Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).
  2. Institutions set up by the Government of Gujarat (GoG) / Government of India (Gol).
  3. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved institutions/professional colleges, (including autonomous as well as those colleges affiliated with Universities).
  4. Any other institution as approved by SLEC.

Eligible Activities:

  1. Proposals for contract/sponsored research by eligible institutions from Industrial Associations or individual industrial undertaking or government or any other agency as approved by SLEC.

Application Process

Offline

Step-1: The R&D institution must apply to the Industries Commissionerate in the prescribed format, along with all necessary documents.
Step-2: The office of the Industries Commissioner will scrutinize the proposals to ensure compliance with the scheme's eligibility and guidelines.
Step-3: The proposals will be presented to the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) for review and approval.
Step-4: Upon approval by SLEC, the reimbursement of the sanctioned assistance will be processed, and the claim will be disbursed by the office of the Industries Commissioner.
