The "Sanskrit Scholarship" scheme, implemented by the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, aims to promote the Sanskrit language by providing financial assistance to students. Under this scheme, students studying Sanskrit at various levels—Post Graduate (M.A. Classic), Acharya, Graduate (B.A. Classic), Shastri, Uttar Madhyama, Purva Madhyama, and Prathama—in any government or aided non-government college receive a monthly scholarship of ₹300/- for 10 months. To be eligible, students must be natives of Madhya Pradesh and have a family income not exceeding ₹54,000/- per year. Selection of students is made within the prescribed quota limits.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant should be a native of Madhya Pradesh.
  2. The applicant should be a student.
  3. The students studying Sanskrit at various levels—Post Graduate (M.A. Classic), Acharya, Graduate (B.A. Classic), Shastri, Uttar Madhyama, Purva Madhyama, and Prathama—in any government or aided non-government college.
  4. The annual family income of the applicant's parents or guardians should not exceed ₹54,000/-.
  5. The applicant's Academic Qualifications should be one of the following:
  • Post Graduate: 50% marks in degree examination.
  • Acharya: 50% marks in Shastri or equivalent examination.
  • Graduate: 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
  • Shastri: 45% marks in Purva Madhyama.
  • Uttar Madhyama: 45% marks in Prathma or equivalent.
  • Purva Madhyama: On the basis of merit in the 5th examination.

Application Process

Offline

  • Advertisement Issuance: The Directorate of Higher Education issues the advertisement for the scheme. - Application Scrutiny: The applications received are scrutinized, and applicants are selected within the prescribed quota limit. - Approval and Disbursement: With the approval of the Commissioner of Higher Education, the amount is transferred to the beneficiary's bank account.
