Details

The Ministry of Power, Government of India, launched the 'Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme: A Reforms-based and Results-linked Scheme' on July 20, 2021. The objective of this scheme is to enhance the quality and reliability of power supply to consumers through a financially sustainable and operationally efficient distribution sector. The scheme aims to reduce Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses to pan-India levels of 12-15% and eliminate the Average Cost of Supply (ACS) to Average Revenue Requirement (ARR) gap by the year 2024-25. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) and action plan for the implementation of the scheme in Jodhpur Discom were discussed in the Monitoring Committee for RDSS, chaired by the Secretary (Power), Government of India, during its 8th meeting on February 10, 2022, where the action plan and loss reduction DPR of Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JdVVNL) were approved. The approval was communicated by REC Ltd., New Delhi, on March 28, 2022, detailing the project costs and government budget support for various components of the scheme.
