Details

The Residential School Scheme was initiated by the Social Justice & Empowerment Department in 1997-98. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide quality education from classes 6 to 12 in a clean and good environment for talented students from economically weaker families belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, as well as children from families involved in begging and other undesirable activities. Currently, 32 residential schools are operational in the state.

Eligibility

Children from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in BPL families can apply. After filling the available seats, children from families with an annual income of less than 800,000 INR can also apply.

To apply for admission to residential schools, online applications are invited annually on the portal sjms.rajasthan.gov.in. Students must apply online through e-Mitra, kiosks, cyber cafes, or personal internet. Scanned copies of the required documents must be uploaded with the application.
