Promotion of Acting in Tiatr for School Children

The scheme "Promotion of Acting in Tiatr for School Children" by the Tiatr Academy of Goa aims to encourage interested artistes to improve their acting abilities through organized competitions related to Goan tiatr dramatic activity, addressing the need to develop theatrical skills among school students at primary and secondary levels. The scheme provides acting competitions in comedy and non-comedy categories with both monologue and dialogue formats, along with cash prizes ranging from ₹2,000/- to ₹5,000/- and participation certificates for winners and best script writers. The applications for this scheme are accepted offline.

Conditions

*Minimum four entries required in each category for competition to be conducted in that particular category.
*Performance duration must be between 4 to 7 minutes.
*Scripts must not contain adverse remarks against any governments, individuals, institutions, or anything against caste, creed and religion.

• The applicant must be a school student at primary school level or secondary school level.
• The applicant must participate through their respective school.

Participation Rules

• The applicant (one student of a school) can participate in each category.
• The applicant must submit separate applications if participating in more than one category.
• The applicant must ensure their performance is between 4 to 7 minutes duration.
• The applicant must submit a typed copy of the script along with the application form.

Content Requirements

• The applicant must ensure their script/performance does not contain any adverse remarks against any governments, individuals, institutions, or anything against caste, creed and religion.
• The applicant must ensure their performance does not hurt the sentiments of anybody.

Competition Categories Available

• The applicant can participate in Monologue (Comedy Acting) category.
• The applicant can participate in Dialogue (Comedy Acting) category.
• The applicant can participate in Monologue (Non-Comedy Acting) category.
• The applicant can participate in Dialogue (Non-Comedy Acting) category.

Judging Criteria

Acting abilities are evaluated based on six specific criteria:

• Delivery of dialogues
• Facial expression
• Reaction to others on the stage
• Movement on the stage
• Costumes
• Overall impact

Performance Guidelines

• Light effects and background music are not considered during judging.
• Performances are limited to acting ability assessment only.
• Professional judges with expertise in acting and direction conduct the evaluation.

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields. Attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required). Sign the application form and mention the date.

Post-Application Processes

Step 1:**** Await Competition Schedule
Wait for Tiatr Academy of Goa to organize the competition once minimum four entries are received in each category, as competitions will only be conducted when this minimum requirement is met.
Step 2:**** Performance Evaluation
Participate in the competition where your acting abilities will be judged on six criteria: delivery of dialogues, facial expression, reaction to others on the stage, movement on the stage, costumes, and overall impact by a panel of judges well versed in acting and direction.
Step 3:**** Receive Results and Benefits
Accept the final and binding decision of the judges, and if selected as a winner, receive cash prizes and participation certificates as per the category and position achieved in the competition.
