The scheme “Procedure for Admission to Government Women Welfare and Rehabilitation Centre and Women's Home” is implemented by the Women Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide support to women above 18 years of age who are orphans, destitute, abandoned, found on roads, or mentally and physically disabled. Application Process
Offline
The woman herself or any citizen can provide information about mentally or physically disabled women, or destitute women in their area, by calling helpline number 181. Information can also be given to the Police, SDM, City Magistrate, or District Magistrate of the concerned area.
After receiving the information, the Police rescue the woman, conduct medical and other necessary examinations, and on the orders of the District Magistrate, send her to the Government Women Welfare and Rehabilitation Centre or Mahila Griha. The list of such centres is as follows:
