Details

The Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) was launched on August 14, 2008, by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, to provide new employment opportunities to various sections of the state. The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has been appointed as the sole nodal agency for the implementation of the scheme at the national level, with the support of the State Khadi and Village Industries Board and the District Industries Centers of the state.

Benefits

  • - Margin money (grant) provision of 25% to 35% on project costs up to ₹25lakh for establishing enterprises under the scheme
  • Margin money (grant) provision of 25% to 35% on project costs up to ₹25 lakh for establishing enterprises under the scheme.

Eligibility

  1. The beneficiary must be over 18 years of age. 2. Must have passed at least the 8th grade. 3. Only new units being established are eligible for assistance under the scheme. 4. Units that have already availed or are currently availing subsidies under any state or central government scheme are not eligible for this scheme.

Application Process

Online

Applications can be submitted online through the PMEGP e-portal. The KVIC agency can be selected on the PMEGP e-portal. Required documents include Aadhaar card, photo, educational qualification certificate, proof of village population, and project report.
