Details

The Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for the Children of Accredited Journalists has been implemented following point number 81 of the budget announcement for the year 2022-23. This scheme provides scholarships to the children of accredited journalists from the Rajasthan Journalist and Literary Welfare Fund. Scholarships will be granted under the following rules and conditions: One of the applicant's parents must be an accredited journalist recognized by the Department of Information and Public Relations, Rajasthan. The accredited journalist must rely entirely on journalism for their livelihood and have an annual income not exceeding 800,000 INR. Only two children of such journalists will be eligible. The applicant must be a native of Rajasthan and provide a domicile certificate. The applicant must also submit a birth certificate and an educational certificate issued by the educational institution. The applicant must be studying in a recognized course at a government or recognized educational institution in Rajasthan. The applicant should not be receiving benefits from any other state government scholarship scheme. A notarized affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper of 50 INR is required in this regard. Scholarships are available for only one year for any class; if a student fails, they will not receive a scholarship for the same class in subsequent years. The applicant must apply in the prescribed format with the necessary documents to the relevant district information and public relations office. After receiving the application, the office must forward it to the headquarters with recommendations within 15 days. Upon receipt at the headquarters, the application will be thoroughly reviewed, and the scholarship amount will be approved. The scholarship amount will be disbursed as per Annexure-I and Annexure-II. The approval of the scholarship amount will be issued by an officer at the commissioner/director level. The final decision regarding the scholarship provision will rest with the state government.

Eligibility

  • One parent must be an accredited journalist recognized by the Department of Information and Public Relations, Rajasthan.
  • The journalist's annual income must not exceed 800,000 INR.
  • Only two children of the journalist are eligible.
  • The applicant must be a native of Rajasthan.
  • The applicant must provide a domicile certificate.
  • The applicant must submit a birth certificate and educational qualification certificate.
  • The applicant must be studying in a recognized course at a government or recognized educational institution in Rajasthan.
  • The applicant should not be receiving benefits from any other state government scholarship scheme.

Exclusions

Applicants receiving benefits from any other state government scholarship scheme are not eligible.
