The scheme "Pradhan Mantri Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana" was launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. The scheme provides comprehensive support through six key components, including integrated village development under Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana, development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, support to Tribal Research Institutes, and Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships. The applicant must belong to a Scheduled Tribe or reside in an identified village with a significant tribal population to avail of specific benefits.

Village Development

PVTG Development

Financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission for essential amenities such as secure housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, improved access to education, health, nutrition, and road and telecom connectivity.

Pre-Matric Scholarship

Financial assistance for Scheduled Tribe students studying in Standard IX and X.

Post-Matric Scholarship

Financial assistance for Scheduled Tribe students studying in Class XI and above.

Tribal Research

Financial assistance to State Governments and Union Territories for Tribal Research Institutes to facilitate research, documentation, and preservation of tribal cultural heritage.

Livelihood Support

Procurement of Minor Forest Produces at Minimum Support Price and value addition training programs through Van Dhan Vikas Kendras under the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission.

Residential Education

Access to quality education for students from Class VI to XII through Eklavya Model Residential Schools in blocks with more than 50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal persons.

Eligibility

For Pre-Matric Scholarship
  • The applicant must belong to a Scheduled Tribe.
  • The applicant must be studying in Standard IX or X.
  • The applicant's parental annual income must be up to ₹2,50,000/-.
For Post-Matric Scholarship
  • The applicant must belong to a Scheduled Tribe.
  • The applicant must be studying in Class XI or above.
  • The applicant's parental annual income must be up to ₹2,50,000/-.
For Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana (Village Eligibility)
  • The village must have at least 50% tribal population.
  • The village must have a total population of at least 500 Scheduled Tribes.
For PVTG Development
  • The beneficiary must belong to a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) family or habitation.
For Eklavya Model Residential Schools
  • The applicant must be a Scheduled Tribe student seeking admission in Class VI to XII.

Application Process

Online

Application for Scholarships (Pre-Matric and Post-Matric)

Step 1: The applicant must access the National Scholarship Portal or the respective State Scholarship Portal designated by the State Government.
Step 2: The applicant must register on the portal by providing basic details such as name, date of birth, and mobile number to generate login credentials.
Step 3: The applicant must log in to the portal and fill out the specific application form for the Pre-Matric or Post-Matric Scholarship for ST students.
Step 4: The applicant must upload the scanned copies of the required documents, such as the Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, and Mark Sheets, in the prescribed format and size.
Step 5: The applicant must review the entered details and submit the application form online before the specified deadline.

Application for PVTG and Village Development Components

Step 1: The State Governments and Union Territory administrations must prepare proposals based on the specific needs of the identified villages and PVTG habitations.
Step 2: The State Governments must submit these proposals to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for approval and financial assistance.
Step 3: Upon approval, the funds are released to the State Governments for the implementation of development activities such as housing, infrastructure, and connectivity.
