Details

The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana aims to increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and providing employment to individuals involved in inland fisheries activities. The scheme seeks to accelerate inland fish farming in freshwater bodies, enhance fish production, and boost the overall inland fisheries sector. Its primary objective is to create employment opportunities for both general and women beneficiaries in the state while increasing fish production. The scheme promotes innovative methods such as Biofloc and Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) to achieve higher fish yields in limited land and water resources. Additionally, the establishment of freshwater hatcheries is encouraged to further enhance inland fish production capacity. The PMMSY scheme offers a subsidy of 40% for the general category and 60% for women beneficiaries.
