Details

The “Post Matric Merit Scholarship” is a scheme implemented by the Mizoram Scholarship Board, Higher and Technical Education Department, Government of Mizoram. The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to permanent residents of Mizoram State securing 60% marks in Board/University Examination. The scheme is 100% funded by the State Plan Fund.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant should be a bonafide permanent resident of Mizoram, or the child/ward of a bonafide permanent resident of Mizoram.
  2. The applicant should be pursuing regular studies in a recognized post-matric institution in India.
  3. The applicant should have secured at least 60% marks or a first division/class in the last Board or University examination.
  4. The applicant pursuing postgraduate courses in Medicine will be eligible only if they are not allowed to practice during the course duration.

Exclusions

  1. The applicant should not be found guilty of misconduct or breach of discipline.
  2. The applicant who has already passed one stage of post-matric education and is studying in the same stage again (even in a different subject or faculty) will not be eligible.
  3. The applicant who has completed their educational career in one professional course and is now pursuing a course in another professional line of the same level (e.g., Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Education, and vice versa) will not be eligible.
  4. The applicant pursuing their studies through correspondence courses will not be eligible.
  5. The applicant should not hold any other scholarship or stipend of higher value.
  • If awarded such a scholarship or stipend, the applicant must choose one and inform the awarding authority through the Principal.
  • No scholarship under this scheme will be paid from the date the applicant accepts another scholarship or stipend of higher value.

Application Process

Offline

  • Normally application is open during July - September through offline, where the application form is available in the Mizoram Scholarship Board during Office working hours.
  • Application Form, duly filled in along with all the necessary documents, must be submitted to the Mizoram Scholarship Board for verification and payment.
