The scheme "Post Graduate Scholarship for Ph.D./LLM Students" by the Higher Education Department, Government of Assam, aims to provide financial assistance to students of Assam pursuing Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Laws degree courses in any recognized colleges or universities in the state and other states of the country, focusing on those with uniformly good academic records.   • The applicant must be domiciled in Assam.
  • The applicant must have obtained at least 55% or above marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • The applicant must have uniformly good academic records.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: Advertisement Publication
Wait for the official advertisement to be published by the Higher Education Department announcing the opening of applications for the scholarship scheme.
Step 2: Online Application Submission
Visit the official portal (yet to be notified) and submit the online application form through the designated university portal with all required information and documents.
Step 3: Application Processing
The submitted applications will be received online from the universities and processed by the concerned authorities for initial verification and compilation.
Step 4: Selection Process
The selection committee will review all eligible applications and select candidates based on the prescribed eligibility criteria and merit evaluation process.
Step 5: Financial Sanction
Successful candidates will have their files moved for financial sanction approval from the competent authority before benefit disbursement.
Step 6: Benefit Disbursement
The scholarship amount will be disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer mode directly to the bank accounts of selected beneficiaries.
