After the submission, the applications are scrutinized by the Director General/Director and then presented before a committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Secretary/Principal Secretary. The committee verifies the submitted documents and calls the concerned artist for an interview. If found eligible during the interview and document verification, the pension is recommended. Subsequently, the Directorate of Culture disburses the approved pension amount to the artist every month. - In the event of the death of an artist or litterateur, the monthly pension is transferred to their spouse as a dependent. At present, the Directorate of Culture is providing monthly pension benefits to a total of 123 elderly and indigent artists.
