This national level festival is organized in the memory of Pt. Omkarnath. Every year, the Pt. Omkarnath Shastri Sangeet Mohotsav and the Committee for the Award, P. Omkarnath Award, is given to the artist selected by the experts and members of the committee. The festival has rendered service to the field of classical music in the state and the nation for over 40 years, promoting and nurturing classical music through traditional training.

Eligibility
Only eminent male artists who have conducted research in classical music are eligible for this award. The committee will decide the award recipient.
