The "Pandit Deendayal Educational Excellence Award" scheme is implemented by the Secondary Education Department under the Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote academic excellence among schools and students by providing cash awards to the best-performing schools at the high school and intermediate levels at the state level, as well as to students securing top positions in the Uttarakhand Board High School and Intermediate Examinations.

  • For Schools: The 3 schools giving the best results at the state level are awarded prizes of:
  • ₹10,00,000/-, ₹5,00,000/-, and ₹3,00,000/- at the Intermediate level
  • ₹8,00,000/-, ₹4,00,000/-, and ₹2,00,000/- at the High School level. For Students (Intermediate Level):
  • Students securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions: ₹21,000/-, ₹15,000/-, and ₹11,000/- respectively
  • Students securing 4th to 10th positions: ₹5,100/- each. For Students (High School Level):
  • Students securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions: ₹15,000/-, ₹11,000/-, and ₹8,000/- respectively
  • Students securing 4th to 10th positions: ₹5,100/- each

Eligibility

For School:

  1. The applicant school must be among the 3 best-performing schools at the Uttarakhand Board high school or intermediate level school at the state level.

For Student:

  1. The applicant student must be among the top 10 rank holders in the Uttarakhand Board Council Examination at High School or Intermediate level examination.

Application Process

Offline

  • The Secondary Education Department, Uttarakhand, receives the list from the Board after the examination results are declared. After obtaining approval from the competent authority for the amount to be awarded to high school and intermediate students securing top 10 positions in the Board examinations, the list is forwarded to the Chief Education Officer.
  • The concerned Chief Education Officer issues drafts to the respective schools according to the number of eligible students. The schools then provide these to the students directly or, in some cases, distribute the funds through award ceremonies.
  • Under this scheme, students are not required to submit any application.
