Details

The Palanhar Scheme was launched by the state government to benefit orphaned children in the state. Under this scheme, the care, education, and other necessities for orphaned children, or those whose parents have passed away, will not be provided institutionally. Instead, interested individuals will be appointed as guardians to provide a family environment for the children, ensuring they receive education, food, clothing, and other essential services.

Benefits

  • - Monthly financial assistance of ₹500for children aged 0-6 years (attendance at Anganwadi is mandatory)
  • Monthly financial assistance of ₹1000for children aged 6-18 years (attendance at school is mandatory)
  • An additional one-time annual assistance of ₹2000for clothing, sweaters, shoes, etc. (not applicable for widow guardians and relatives)
  • Monthly financial assistance of ₹500 for children aged 0-6 years (attendance at Anganwadi is mandatory)

Eligibility

  1. Orphaned children or children whose parents have died.
  2. Children of parents sentenced to death or life imprisonment.
  3. Children of widowed mothers eligible for destitute pension.
  4. Children of remarried widowed mothers.
  5. Children of parents suffering from HIV/AIDS.
  6. Children of parents suffering from leprosy.
  7. Children of mothers who have been abandoned for more than a year.
  8. Children of parents with disabilities (40% or more).
  9. Children of divorced or abandoned women.

Exclusions

Not applicable for widow guardians and relatives for clothing assistance.
