The scheme “Organization of Various Conclaves and Felicitations to Encourage Women, Women Scientists, Teachers and Young Students” is implemented by the Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote and enhance scientific attitude and skill development of women, women scientists, teachers, and young students of the state by organizing conclaves and felicitating them.

Benefits

  • Under this scheme, to promote and enhance scientific attitude and skill development among students, teachers, and women of the state, the following conclaves are organized and felicitations are given:
  • Yuva-Bal Samagam: Medhavi Chhatra Samman
  • Teacher/Science Conclave: Vigyan Prasar Samman
  • Woman Scientists Conclave: Utkrisht Yuva Mahila Vaigyanik Samman
  • Mahila Prayogdharmi Samman

  1. The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand state.
  2. The applicant must be a student, teacher, woman, and the general public.

Application Process

Offline

  • USERC organizes district-wise Bal Yuva Samagams. The top five meritorious students from each district, who achieve the highest marks in High School/12th Grade under the Uttarakhand Board, are honored. The merit list is provided by the District Education Officer of the respective district.
  • The Science Teachers' Conclave honors Uttarakhand’s science teachers and science-oriented educators with the Vigyan Prasar Samman to encourage and promote the exchange of ideas. Applications are invited from teachers across the state for the award, and advertisements are also published in newspapers.
  • USERC organizes the Women Scientists Conclave and the Utkrisht Yuva Mahila Vaigyaanik Samman Programme every year to encourage women scientists. Applications are invited from women scientists across the state, and advertisements are published in newspapers.
  • To identify and encourage women making exemplary contributions to the integration of science in the state, they are honored with the Mahila Prayogdharmi Samman on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
