Financial assistance is provided to registered cultural groups and artists in Uttarakhand for performances at traditional fairs, festivals, and regional celebrations, both within and outside the state. Honorariums and travel allowances are available based on the type of performance, supporting cultural expression during significant events, including national festivals.

The scheme “Organisation of Cultural Programs” was introduced by the Department of Culture and Endowments, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to cultural groups and artists registered with the Department of Culture for performing in cultural programs organized during traditional fairs, festivals, regional celebrations within and outside the state, as well as on the occasion of national festivals.

Benefits

  • After the presentation of cultural programmes by groups/folk singers enlisted with the Culture Department on the occasion of traditional fairs, festivals, celebrations, and national festivals organized within or outside the state, the following honorarium and allowances are payable: 1. Group Leader: Honorarium of ₹1,000/- and travelling allowance of ₹500/-. 1. Other Artists: Honorarium of ₹800/- each and travelling allowance of ₹400/- each. 1. Folk Singers:
  • Category A: ₹7,500/- as honorarium
  • Category B: ₹4,250/- as honorarium
  • Travelling allowance: ₹300/- along with ordinary bus fare or second-class rail fare for the journey

  1. Group Leader: Honorarium of ₹1,000/- and travelling allowance of ₹500/-.
  2. Other Artists: Honorarium of ₹800/- each and travelling allowance of ₹400/- each.
  3. Folk Singers:
  • Category A: ₹7,500/- as honorarium.
  • Category B: ₹4,250/- as honorarium.
  • Travelling allowance: ₹300/- along with ordinary bus fare or second-class rail fare for the journey.

  • The applicant must be a cultural group or an artist registered with the Department of Culture, Uttarakhand.

Application Process

Offline

  • The Directorate of Culture conducts auditions periodically to shortlist cultural groups and artists.
  • For the selection of a cultural group, the following documents are required: the organization’s registration certificate, a copy of its bylaws, details and number of the group’s artists, and a certificate confirming that the members are natives or permanent residents of Uttarakhand.
  • At present, the department has a total of 267 cultural groups and 226 solo artists on its list.
