(1) Applications are submitted by applicants desirous of participating in paragliding activities between 16th July and 30th August every year.
1. For running the firm:

  • Prescribed application form.
  • Valid registration under the Firm Societies Act.
  • Uttarakhand Travel Business Registration Certificate.
  • Insurance of the firm.
  • Details of the staff working in the firm.
  • Tandem Joy Rides Package Fare (Tariff Card).
  • Description of paragliding equipment.
  • Application fee as per rules: ₹1,000/-.

2. For Tandem Pilot:

  • The tandem pilot must have covered a minimum air distance of 35 km, and the name of the tandem pilot must be recorded in the digital flight log.
  • The applicant must have logged a minimum of 100 hours of flying time, with their name recorded in the digital log for these flights.
  • The tandem pilot should have advanced practical knowledge of aero sports, which will be tested by the Technical Committee through a practical test.
  • Tandem pilots must be medically fit, hold appropriate medical certificates, and have valid First Aid and CPR certification, subject to annual medical examination.
  • The operator must have valid circular party insurance covering paragliding.
  • The tandem pilot must have completed the SIV (Simulation in Flight) Tandem Paragliding Safety Course.

(2) After submission, applications are scrutinized by the Department and then placed before the Technical Committee for evaluation.
(3) After the recommendation of the Technical Committee, the Chief Executive Officer, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council, shall issue the permission.
