Details
The Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme (NAIP IV) aims to enhance the genetic quality of dairy animals (cows and buffaloes) in Rajasthan through artificial insemination using high genetic merit semen. The program is implemented by the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department of the Government of India. The initiative spans four phases: Phase I from September 15, 2019, to May 31, 2020; Phase II from August 1, 2020, to May 31, 2021; Phase III from August 1, 2021, to July 31, 2022; and Phase IV starting from August 1, 2022, and ongoing. The program covers all 33 districts of the state, with 300 villages selected in the first phase and 500 villages in the second phase. In the third and fourth phases, all villages in each district are included. The program aims to increase the income of livestock owners by providing free artificial insemination services and maintaining a database of livestock and their production.
