Details

The National Family Benefit Scheme provides a one-time financial assistance of Rs. 30,000 to the dependents of the breadwinner from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the event of the breadwinner's death. This assistance is available for breadwinners aged between 18 to 60 years. In cases where funds are not readily available, the District Magistrate has the authority to withdraw from the Treasury Reserve-27 at the district level to provide immediate support to the beneficiary, as per Government Order Number 1739/26-2-2006 dated June 20, 2006. The scheme was fully computerized and made available online starting from January 1, 2016.
