The National Bamboo Mission is a scheme implemented with the support of both the central and state governments. It focuses on high-density and block planting of bamboo, requiring the planting of 416 saplings per hectare. The responsibility for planting and post-planting care lies with the landowner. The scheme has been operational since the year 2019-20, with a funding participation ratio of 60:40 between the central and state governments. Farmers retain full ownership rights over the bamboo assets cultivated under this scheme.
