The “National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG)” scheme has been implemented by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India. The scheme aims to recognize excellence in e-Governance initiatives and promote innovation, transparency, and efficiency in public service delivery.

  • To encourage innovation using technology in public service delivery.
  • To promote exchange of best practices and problem-solving approaches in governance.

Mode of Disbursement

  • The incentive amount is released to the awarded organization for project implementation or public welfare improvements.
  • The award is non-recurring and provided once per award cycle.
  • The incentive is provided after final selection and award announcement.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant should be a central ministry or department, state or union territory government, district, or urban local body.
  2. The applicant should be an academic institution, research organization, or startup (as per the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade definition).
  3. The applicant should have implemented an e-governance project using information and communication technology.
  4. The applicant should ensure that the project was launched between 01.10.2023 and 30.09.2025.
  5. The applicant should ensure that the project is fully operational as on 01.12.2025.
  6. The applicant should submit only one project under one category.
  7. The applicant should ensure that the project demonstrates innovation, efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery.

Application Process

Online

Step 01: The applicant should visit the official National e-Governance portal (NCEG portal).
Step 02: The applicant should register the organization using valid credentials and email ID.
Step 03: The applicant should log in using the registered username and password.
Step 04: The applicant should select the appropriate award category.
Step 05: The applicant should fill in the online application form with project details.
Step 06: The applicant should upload required documents including the self-certification form.
Step 07: The application undergoes screening, evaluation, spot verification, and jury presentation stages.
Step 08: Final awards are announced after evaluation and approval by the competent authority.
NOTE: The applicant should submit the application online before the deadline.
