Details

The scheme "Nashamukt Gram Panchayat Puraskar Yojana Rules 2018" was launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, effective from February 16, 2018. The scheme aims to provide encouragement toward making the state drug-free, by annually awarding the "Nashamukt Gram Panchayat Puraskar" to one Gram Panchayat in each district that performs excellent work toward de-addiction, where resident youth, elderly, and women are living a drug-free life. The applications for this scheme are accepted by the Collector of the respective district.

Benefits

  • - Cash Award: ₹1,00,000/- per district per Panchayat.- Certificate of Appreciation: A certificate detailing the Gram Panchayat& 39;s outstanding work.- Travel Expenses: Coverage of coming and going travel expenses for the related Sarpanch (Head of the Gram Panchayat). Disbursement Conditions
  • Mode and Time: The नगद पुरस्कार (Cash Award) must be provided to the related Sarpanch (Head of the Gram Panchayat) for the Gram Panchayat within one month of being selected for the award.- Mode: The award amount must be given via Cheque or Bank Draft or Real Time Gross Settlement (R.T.G.S.).- Deposit: The cash award must be deposited into the Gram Panchayat& 39;s bank account.- Certificate Presentation: The certificate of appreciation must be presented at a ceremony organized on Republic Day.- Travel Reimbursement: Travel expenses must be paid by the Collector to the related Sarpanch (Head of the Gram Panchayat) upon attending the Republic Day ceremony at the District Headquarters

Eligibility

  • The applicant must represent a Gram Panchayat of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The applicant must submit their application based on work performed and achievements realized in the previous year.
  • The Gram Panchayat must have one hundred percent (100%) of its population living a drug-free life after giving up intoxication.
  • The Gram Panchayat must include all villages under its jurisdiction.
  • The Gram Panchayat must have taken action under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act 2003.
  • The Gram Panchayat must have provided treatment for habitual addicts by admitting them for medical care in De-addiction cum Rehabilitation Centers.
  • The Gram Panchayat must ensure that students studying in all schools operating within the Panchayat area are motivated against and resolved not to consume intoxicants.
  • A news item should have been published about the drug-free Gram Panchayat in daily newspapers or magazines.

Application Process

Offline

  • The related Gram Panchayat must prepare its application detailing the work performed and achievements realized during the previous year.
  • This application must be presented to the Collector of the corresponding district.

Post-Application Processes
Step 1:**** Scrutiny by the Collector

The Collector must examine the received applications within a period of one month. After the examination, the applications must be presented before the Selection Committee.

Step 2:**** Selection by the Committee

The Selection Committee, comprising the Collector (Chairperson), the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, the District Education Officer, the District Coordinator/Assistant Commissioner (Social Justice Department), the Joint Director/Deputy Director of the Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department (Member Secretary), and an esteemed Social Worker, will select the outstanding Gram Panchayat.

Award Disbursal
  • The Collector must provide the award amount to the related Sarpanch (Head of the Gram Panchayat) for the Gram Panchayat within one month of selection for the award.
  • The award will be provided via Cheque, Bank Draft, or Real Time Gross Settlement (R.T.G.S.) and deposited into the Gram Panchayat's bank account.
Certificate Presentation and Travel Reimbursement
  • The Certificate of Appreciation, which includes the description of the Gram Panchayat's outstanding work, must be presented during the ceremony organized on Republic Day.
  • The Collector must cover the travel expenses of the related Sarpanch (Head of the Gram Panchayat) for coming and going to the district headquarters for the Republic Day ceremony.
