The scheme "Nandaa Gaura Yojana" has been launched by the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance for up to two girls in a family. The assistance is given in two installments per girl child: the first installment is provided at the time of birth if the girl is born in a hospital or ANM center, and the second installment is given when the girl passes Class 12th.

Benefits

  • Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to two girls of an eligible family in two installments for each girl child:
  • ₹11,000/- at the time of birth
  • ₹51,000/- when the girl passes Class 12. For the first installment, the application must be submitted within six months of the girl’s birth, and the child must be born in a hospital/ANM center. For the second installment, the application can be submitted when the girl passes Class 12. Applications are invited from July to November of the same year in which she passes. If applied in the next year, the application will not be considered valid. The second installment will be granted only if the girl has passed Class 12 from the Uttarakhand Board, Secondary Education Board of other states, CBSE, ICSE, or the National Institute of Open Schooling, New Delhi, and the girl must be unmarried

Eligibility

  1. The applicant family must be permanent residents of Uttarakhand.
  2. The family’s monthly income should not exceed ₹6,000/-, or the family should belong to the BPL category to be eligible.
  3. The benefit is applicable for up to two girls per family.
  4. It is mandatory for the mother/father/guardian to submit an affidavit regarding availing or not availing the benefit of the scheme for other girl children in the family in the past. The affidavit must include the following declarations:
  • All information regarding movable and immovable properties and other details sought by me have been provided correctly.
  • I certify that this benefit is being availed for my first/second daughter.
  • No facts have been concealed by me.
  • I have provided the details of all family bank accounts along with bank statements for the last one year.
  • In the case of applying after passing Class 12, I confirm that my daughter is unmarried.
  1. Girls living in Nari Niketan, Balika Niketan, orphanages, or other state government-aided homes will be exempted from the requirement of birth certificate, permanent residence certificate, income certificate, or parent’s name to avail the benefit after passing Class 12.

Application Process

Online

  • To avail the benefits of this scheme, the girl child or her parents/guardians must register on the official portal https://www.nandagaurauk.in - Aadhaar card and mobile number are mandatory for registration. After completing the registration, it is necessary to upload the required documents within the stipulated time to apply for benefits.
  • For claiming benefits at the birth of a girl child, the following documents are required: Maternal Child Immunization/MCP (Vaccination) card, latest passport size photograph of the girl child, birth registration certificate, mother’s institutional delivery certificate, signature of the mother/father/guardian, Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account linked with Aadhaar, mobile number, and permanent residence certificate.
  • For claiming benefits after passing the 12th standard, the applicant must submit: latest passport size photograph, signature, Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account linked with Aadhaar, permanent residence certificate, high school certificate, mark sheet and certificate of passing Class 12th, or a self-attested mark sheet in case of passing from National Open School or other recognized institutions. Additionally, a copy of the admission record in higher education (if available) and a certificate of passing Class 12th issued by the Principal (for institutional students only) are required.
  • In addition to the above, the following documents are necessary for availing benefits under both installments: certificate of Anganwadi worker, ration card, copy of family register or certificate issued by member/councilor, income certificate or BPL certificate, house tax receipt issued by the urban/rural local body or, in the absence of a house tax receipt, a certificate issued by the village headman/councilor, documents of rent agreement (if applicable), copy of bank passbook or one-year bank statement of all family members, family status assessment from the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC), affidavit, other relevant documents, copies of the last three electricity bills of the family, and the latest water bill (or mention in the affidavit if no connection exists).
  • Once the online application is submitted, verification will be carried out by the concerned department. If all documents and details are found correct after verification, the benefit amount is credited directly into the applicant’s bank account, subject to the availability of budget.
