The scheme "Mukhyamantri Pichhda Varg Evam Ati Pichhda Varg Kaushal Vikas Prashikshan Yojana" was launched by the Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Bihar. It aims to enhance the employability and income-generating capacity of youth from backward and extremely backward communities through skill development training. Under this scheme, free domain-specific skilling programs are provided to youth to help them become job-ready or self-employed.

The scheme is implemented by the Bihar State Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, in coordination with the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM).

Eligibility

  1. The applicant should be a resident of Bihar.
  2. The applicant should belong to the Backward Class or Extremely Backward Class category.
  3. The applicant should be between 18 and 45 years of age.
  4. The applicant should possess the Aadhaar number (mandatory for Aadhaar-based registration).

Visit the Official Portal

  • Interested candidates must visit the official website of the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM).
    Search for Nearest Skill Development Centre (SDC)

  • On the homepage, click on “Click here for your nearest center”.

  • Then select “Kushal Yuva Program – Find Centers”.

  • Choose the KYP course, select a preferred search mode (e.g., by district, block, or pincode), and fill in the required details.

  • A list of Skill Development Centres (SDCs) matching the criteria will be displayed.

Document Preparation

  • The applicant must gather self-attested copies of all necessary documents (Aadhaar, caste certificate, residence proof, educational qualifications, etc.) as per the course requirements.

Centre Visit and Registration

  • The applicant should personally visit the nearest Skill Development Centre (SDC) for document verification and registration assistance.

Application Process for the Skill Development Centres

Candidate Identification

  • Local SDCs identify eligible candidates from the Backward Class (BC) and Extremely Backward Class (EBC) categories through community outreach and awareness activities.

Document Collection and Upload

  • All required documents are collected from the candidate and uploaded to the BSDM portal by the SDC for record and processing.

Aadhaar Verification

  • The applicant's Aadhaar number is verified digitally to confirm identity and eligibility.

Batch Formation

  • A training batch is formed comprising a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 candidates.

Approval by the Corporation

  • Upon successful formation and verification of the batch, the Bihar State Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation grants formal approval for the commencement of training.

Training Delivery

  • Certified trainers at BSDM-approved SDCs deliver domain-specific skill training under the prescribed curriculum. Attendance and performance are monitored digitally.
