Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Kit Yojana

The scheme "Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Kit Yojana" has been launched by the Department of Women Empowerment & Child Development, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to improve the health and well-being of both mothers and their newborn girl children by providing essential item kits after the institutional delivery of pregnant women registered at an Anganwadi Centre.

In the state, after the institutional delivery of a pregnant woman, the following benefits will be provided:

• The woman will receive one Mahalakshmi kit for the birth of each of her first two girl children.
• In the case of twins, the woman will be given one Mahalakshmi kit, and each child will receive a separate Mahalakshmi kit.

1. The beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
2. The beneficiary must be a pregnant woman registered with an Anganwadi Centre and eligible to receive a Mahalakshmi Kit after delivery.
3. The beneficiary must not be an income tax payer.

Offline

After the institutional delivery of a pregnant woman registered at an Anganwadi Centre, a Mahalakshmi Kit is provided as a benefit.
The following items are included in the kit for mothers and their newborn girl children:

• For Mothers: Dry fruits, socks, scarf, towel, shawl, blanket, bedsheet, sanitary pads, mustard oil, soap, and nail cutter.- For Newborn Girl Child: Cotton/warm cap, socks, diaper, towel, baby soap, rubber sheet, warm blanket, and vaccination card.
