Application Process

Offline

  • Applicants can obtain the application form from the Directorate or the District Minority Welfare Office, or they may download it from the website https://minoritywelfare.uk.gov.in/. - The application must be submitted within thirty days of clearing the examinations conducted by the State Public Service Commission or the Union Public Service Commission, and within thirty days of securing admission in a national-level institute after clearing its entrance examination. At present, the process is conducted offline.
  • The application form must be accompanied by a recent passport-size photograph certified by a gazetted officer, educational qualification certificates, a self-declaration minority community certificate, a permanent residence certificate, a valid income certificate, the admit card of the concerned examination, proof of success in the examination, details of an Aadhaar-linked bank account, a copy of the Aadhaar card, and an affidavit. The affidavit must declare that the benefit has not been availed earlier in the current financial year, specify whether the attempt is the first, second, or third, and state clearly whether the applicant is in government service. After verifying the details, the completed form must be submitted to the District Minority Welfare Officer’s office within one month of the result being declared.
  • The original certificates of the candidate are verified by the competent authority, and the candidate may be called for this purpose. Once the verification is found to be correct, eligible applications are forwarded from the district level to the Directorate for budget allocation. The Directorate then consolidates all proposals and submits them to the government.
  • On receiving the budget, the Directorate releases funds to the districts as per the demand, and the respective district offices transfer the sanctioned amount directly into the candidate’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.
  • If a candidate qualifies in two or more examinations in the same financial year, benefits will be provided under only one scheme, depending on the option exercised by the candidate.
