Details
The Samarth Yojana, launched in 2018 by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, aims to provide skill training to youth in the textile sector to promote employment. The scheme, also known as the 'Scheme for Capacity Building in Textile Sector (SCBTS)', signifies the objective of skilling youth for gainful and sustainable employment in the textile industry. Over a period of three years from 2017 to 2020, the government plans to train about 1 million young Indians, with a budget of Rs 1300 crore allocated for this initiative. The scheme has signed MoUs with 18 states to empower individuals, targeting to train 400,000 people across these states in various textile-related skills.
