Details
In areas of the state where there is a lack of medical institutions or medical facilities, mobile medical services are being provided to the general public near their residences. A total of 295 mobile medical vehicles are being operated at the block level in 34 districts under the National Health Mission (NHM). Each mobile medical van (MMV) consists of a vehicle equipped with 75 essential medicines and 6 designated testing facilities, along with a doctor, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) or nurse, a lab technician, a pharmacist, and a driver. The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) consists of two vehicles: one diagnostic vehicle equipped with necessary medicines and testing equipment (such as ECG, semi-automated analyzers, and X-ray machines), and another vehicle that includes a doctor, an ANM or nurse, a lab technician, a pharmacist, an assistant radiographer, and a driver. Six such vehicles are being operated in selected tehsils under the Devenarayan scheme in the districts of Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Jhalawar, Dholpur, Bharatpur, and others. The remaining 289 vehicles operate as MMVs equipped with testing facilities (such as glucometers, hemoglobin meters, and BP apparatus). The designated testing facilities include on-the-spot urine tests (albumin, sugar, microscopy), blood counts (TLC, DLC, and ESR), hemoglobin, blood sugar, bleeding and clotting time, and pregnancy tests. These vehicles conduct 20 camps each month in rural areas, providing free medical services to the public. The services include free diagnostic services, treatment services, reproductive and child health services, family planning services, and since April 2020, COVID-related testing and vaccination due to the pandemic. The supervision of these vehicles is managed by the Chief Medical and Health Officer and the respective block Chief Medical and Health Officer. Through these mobile medical services, 47,018 camps have been organized, benefiting 2,756,029 patients in the current financial year 2021-22 (up to February 2022).
