The Sports and Wellness Scheme, under the Planning Department of the Government of Meghalaya, is an initiative designed to encourage both registered and unregistered firms to establish modern sporting facilities in Meghalaya. The scheme has the dual objectives of enhancing well-being and improving the health of the local population. By promoting physical fitness, mental health, and healthier lifestyles through sports and wellness activities, the scheme aims to benefit the community by providing opportunities for physical exercise, sports participation, and other wellness-related activities that contribute to better overall health outcomes.
Benefits
- 1. Upfront subsidy up to 25% of total project cost (maximum ₹37.5 lakh for most applicantssemi colon ₹75lakh for top 5 promising entrepreneurs) 1. Eligibility
Individuals
- The applicant must be a resident of Meghalaya and provide valid government ID proof.
- The applicant must be between 18 and 58 years of age.
- The applicant must possess land, either self-owned or on lease, verified by the competent authority.
- The entrepreneur must provide proof of relevant experience in the field through past projects, portfolios, certifications, or testimonials.
Registered Entities
- The firm or company must be registered in Meghalaya, such as Pvt. Ltd., LLP, or Sole Proprietorship, and must operate as a “for-profit” organization.
- The organization must provide an Incorporation Certificate or registration certificate, whichever is applicable.
- The entity must ensure that at least two members possess a training certificate in the relevant sector from a recognized institution, preferably a government institute.
- The entity must possess land, either self-owned or on lease, verified by the competent authority.
- The entrepreneur must not be a credit defaulter with any bank.
Exclusions
Individuals
Applications shall not be ordinarily considered for the following
A. Following individuals (currently employed as full-fledged or contractual, or retired and drawing pension) and their Immediate family members which includes spouse, parents, and children up to the age of 30
i. State and Central Government employees ii. Employees of public sector undertakings, subsidiaries of public sector undertakings and divisions of public sector undertakings etc.
iii. Any individual whose job is concerned with politics such MLAs, MLCs, MPs etc. or seeking to hold a similar position in government iv. Registered class-1 contractors v. Consultants who are currently engaged with state or central government
B. Only one member from a family is eligible for the scheme.
C. Pressure groups and organizations that are primarily political in nature

Application Process
Online
Step 1: Visit the official website of the scheme and click on the “Login to Apply” button to start the application process. Carefully read all the instructions provided on the website before proceeding.
Step 2: If you are a first-time user, click on “Registration for New User” and complete the registration process to create your account.
Step 3: Select your Authentication ID from the available options, such as
- PDS (Ration Card)
- Election Photo ID Card (EPIC).
Step 4: Enter your card number, select your name from the displayed list, and click on “Next” to continue.
Step 5: Your EPIC ID will appear on the screen. If the details are correct, click on “Accept.” If the details are incorrect or rejected, manually enter your EPIC number and proceed.
Step 6: Click on “Validate” to verify the entered EPIC number, and then click on “Next” to move to the application form.
Step 7: Fill in all required details in the application form, upload the necessary documents, carefully review all the information, and click on “Submit.” After successful submission, you will receive a unique application number for future reference.
Sign In
Step 1: Click on “Sign In” and choose your preferred sign-in method from Mobile Number, PDS, EPIC, or Member ID.
Step 2: Enter your User ID and Password, then click on “Login” to access your account.
Step 3: After logging in, click on “Apply for Services/Scheme” to start your application.
Step 4: Fill in all the required details in the application form, upload the necessary documents, carefully review the information, and click on “Submit.”
