Details

Masala Shetra Vistar Yojana was launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh under the Horticulture and Food Processing Department. Scheme objective is to expand the area and increase the production of selected spice crops through quality high-yielding varieties.

Selected crops

  1. Seed spice crops.
  2. Turmeric with rhizomes.
  3. Ginger.

Benefits

  • - In seed spice crops, 50% of the cost of seed, a maximum ₹10,000/- per hectare, whichever is less, will be given as a subsidy
  • For the production of root and center/rhizome commercial crops garlic, turmeric, and ginger, a grant of 50% of the cost of planting material to a maximum of ₹50,000/- per hectare, whichever is less, will be given
  • In seed spice crops, 50% of the cost of seed, a maximum ₹10,000/- per hectare, whichever is less, will be given as a subsidy.
  • For the production of root and center/rhizome commercial crops garlic, turmeric, and ginger, a grant of 50% of the cost of planting material to a maximum of ₹ 50,000/- per hectare, whichever is less, will be given.

Eligibility

  1. Those farmers are not currently cultivating spices.
  2. This scheme will be applicable for all sections.
  3. Farmers who have obtained forest rights certificate will also be eligible to avail the benefits.
  4. The grant will be payable only once to a farmer.
  5. A farmer can do farming for the first time in as much area as he wants but the grant will be payable for minimum 0.25 hectare and maximum 2.00 hectare.

Exclusions

  1. Ultimately only those farmers will be encouraged to cultivate spices.
  2. This scheme will apply to all categories.
  3. Farmers who have obtained forest rights certificates are also eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
  4. The final grant will be given to a farmer only once.
  5. A farmer can do farming in as much area as he wants for the first time, but the grant
    6.It will be payable for a minimum of 0.25 hectares and a maximum of 2.00 hectares.
