The “Madhya Pradesh Non-Government Institution Grant Scheme” has been launched by the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to non-government cultural institutions for the preservation, promotion, and development of art, culture, and literature by offering maintenance, equipment, and camp or event grants to eligible institutions actively engaged in artistic and literary fields.

Types of Financial Assistance

Maintenance Grant

  • Provided for training activities and art performances.

  • Provided for the purchase of books, musical instruments, audio-visual equipment, electrical equipment, furniture, cameras, record players, and workshop tools.

Camp and Event Grant

  • Provided for training camps, cultural camps, and special cultural or literary events.
  • Maximum assistance up to 90% of the proposed total expenditure.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant should be a non-governmental cultural institution.
  2. The institution should be registered under the Madhya Pradesh Society Registration Act, 1973, or other applicable law.
  3. The institution should be continuously active for at least 3 years prior to the application year.
  4. The institution should be engaged in art, culture, literature, training, research, or performances.
  5. The institution should have cultural and literary objectives clearly mentioned in its registered constitution.
  6. The institution should be operating within Madhya Pradesh.

Exclusions

  1. The applicant should not use the grant for honoring individuals, gifting shawls, mementos, coconuts, or activities that involve only felicitation.
  2. The applicant should not use the grant for religious, caste-based, or communal programs.
  3. The applicant should not have government officials or employees as office bearers.
  4. The applicant cannot claim the grant as a matter of right, and prior approval does not guarantee future grants.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant downloads the application form from the official website.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the respective Director, Directorate of Culture, Bhopal.
NOTE:

  • The applicant should submit a Chartered Accountant-certified Utilization Certificate if grants were received during the last 3 financial years.
  • The applicant should invite public representatives and district administration officials to support programs.
