The scheme “Machhali Palan” is implemented by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority under the Department of Disaster Management, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial support to fishermen for repairing, reconstructing, and replacing damaged boats and nets due to disasters.

Benefits

  • Under this scheme, the following compensation is provided to fishermen for the repair or replacement of damaged boats and nets:
  • ₹6,000/- for the repair of partially damaged boats
  • ₹3,000/- for the repair of partially damaged nets
  • ₹15,000/- for the repurchase of completely damaged boats
  • ₹4,000/- for the repurchase of completely damaged nets An investment subsidy of ₹10,000/- per hectare is provided for fish seed farms

Application Process

Offline

Information about the disaster and the resulting damage is received from various sources. The concerned Patwari verifies the damage and records it in the P-20 form. The Patwari’s report is subsequently verified by the Tehsildar and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Approval is then obtained from the District Magistrate. Once the District Magistrate’s approval is received, relief funds are disbursed to the concerned beneficiaries at the Tehsil level.
