The scheme "Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards (Commercial)" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to recognize and honor tiatr artistes who have contributed immensely for the development of tiatr, its song and music in the past, addressing the need to acknowledge their lifetime dedication to this traditional art form. The scheme provides a comprehensive recognition package including a shawl, memento, citation, and cash award as fixed by Tiatr Academy of Goa, along with the prestige of being honored at a special function held annually on 14th December on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Joao Agostinho Fernandes, 'The Father of Tiatr'. The applicant must be not less than 60 years of age (with health-based relaxation provision) and must have at least 20 years of contribution in the field of tiatr with specific performance requirements based on their role. The scheme is implemented by Tiatr Academy of Goa. The applications for this scheme are accepted through recommendations from individuals/institutions and advertisements in local newspapers.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be not less than 60 years of age.
- The applicant must have at least 20 years of contribution in the field of tiatr.
- The applicant, if an actor/singer/Stage Manager/Lights provider/Make-up artist/Costume designer/Live Music/Background music provider/organizer/contractor, must have performed in at least 30 tiatrs.
- The applicant, if a writer/director, must have written/directed at least 20 tiatrs.
- *The age limit of 60 years may be relaxed if the health of the artist is not well.
Assessment Criteria
The applicant's excellence as an actor, script writer, director, singer, lyricist, set designer will be considered.
The applicant's receipt of any awards in their field will be evaluated.
The applicant's innovations on the tiatr stage will be assessed.
The applicant's songs (kantaram) recorded on records, cassettes, CDs/DVDs or online will be considered (if singer/musician).
The applicant's work in dramas in other languages or films besides tiatr will be evaluated.
The applicant's published books of scripts/lyrics will be considered (if script writer or lyricist).
Post-Selection Conditions
The applicant must be compulsorily present in person to receive the award.
Exclusions
No person can receive this award more than once in their lifetime across any category.
Application Process
Offline
Applications are accepted through recommendations from individuals/institutions and through advertisements in local newspapers. The Executive Board also has the right to nominate deserving artistes from outside the recommended list.
Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required). Sign the application form and mention the date.

*Applicants are advised to save a copy of the submitted application form and any acknowledgment.
Selection Process: Selection is done based on the stated criteria through evaluation of recommendations and nominations by the Executive Board of Tiatr Academy of Goa.
Award Ceremony: Selected awardees are honored at a special function organized on 14th December every year on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Joao Agostinho Fernandes, 'The Father of Tiatr'.
