The scheme "Lifetime Contribution to Konkani Cinema Award" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to recognize and honor artistes including tiatr artistes who have contributed immensely for the development of Konkani Cinema in the past, addressing the need to acknowledge their significant contributions to this cultural art form. Eligibility
- The applicant must be not less than 60 years of age.
- The applicant must have contributed to Konkani Cinema development.
Relaxation
- The age limit of 60 years may be relaxed if the health of the artiste is not well.
Selection Considerations
- The applicant should demonstrate excellence as an actor, script writer, director, playback singer, lyricist, producer, or composer.
- The applicant may have received awards in their respective field.
- The applicant should have done innovation on the Konkani Cinema front.
- The applicant, if a singer/musician, should have songs recorded on vinyl records, Compact Discs, Digital Versatile Discs, online platforms, or brought out in video format.
- The applicant may have worked in films of other languages in various capacities including acting, directing, singing, composing music, composing lyrics, designing sets, providing background music, or designing light effects.
- The applicant, if a script writer or lyricist, may have published books of their scripts or lyrics.
Exclusions
The applicant cannot receive the award more than once in their lifetime across any category (Tiatr, Khell, Khell-Tiatr, or Konkani Cinema).
Application Process
Offline
Step 1: Recommendations are invited from individuals and institutions for deserving candidates.
Step 2: Advertisements are published in local newspapers seeking nominations.
Step 3: The Executive Board of Tiatr Academy of Goa reviews all recommendations and may also select deserving artistes from outside the recommended list.
Step 4: Selection is made based on the specified criteria including years of service, excellence in their field, awards received, innovations made, and published works.
Step 5: The selected artiste is informed and must confirm their availability to attend the award ceremony in person.
