The scheme aims to equip Class XI students with individual portable computer systems to enhance digital learning, knowledge acquisition, and skill attainment for employment or self-employment. Students receive one entry-level Laptop or Notebook equipped with specific technical requirements.

Details

The scheme "Laptop-e Scheme" was launched by the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to equip students with individual portable computer systems (Laptops). The scheme aims to enhance learning and knowledge acquisition through Information Technology tools such as the Internet, CD-ROMs, and DVDs, and fully exploit the teaching infrastructure in schools. The applications for this scheme are accepted through the Head of the Institution where the student is studying.

Benefits

  • Provision of one (1) entry-level portable computer system (Notebook or Laptop). Details of Equipment
  • The system must be equipped with at least mid-level Processors
  • The system must include a DVD-ROM Drive
  • The system must include Wi-Fi connectivity
  • The system must include multimedia speakers
  • The system must have a 15-inch or more screen size
  • The system must have a requisite Preloaded Open Standards Supported Operating System
  • The operating system must be backed by premium or comprehensive technical support for at least three (3) years from reputed software companies such as Windows Operating System. Disbursement
  • Benefits are derived immediately after the approval of the Government, depending on the availability of funds and after following all codal formalities
  • The portable computer systems are supplied immediately to the students in various higher secondaries once tenders are decided and supply orders are issued to the various suppliers. Conditions
  • The applicant must deposit a refundable Registration Fee as decided by the Government
  • The fee, once deposited, is not refunded in any case by the Government

Conditions

  • The student, parent, or guardian shall give a valid receipt of the portable computer system received to the Education Department.
  • This receipt must be submitted after obtaining the portable computer system through the respective Head of the Institute.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a student of 11th standard.
  • The applicant must be studying in a recognized Higher Secondary School in Goa.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The student must obtain the prescribed format of the application form of the scheme from the institution where he/she is currently studying.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, to the concerned staff at the institution. The application form should be duly approved and recommended for the supply of the portable system by the Head of the Institution.

Post-Application Processes

Step 1: Processing and Government Approval
The Government processes the application, decides the tenders, and issues supply orders to the various suppliers after following all formalities.
Step 2: Receive Portable Computer System
The students derive the benefit of the scheme immediately after the approval of the Government, although disbursement is dependent on the availability of funds. The suppliers are directed to supply the Laptops or Notebooks immediately to the students in various higher secondaries across the state.
Step 3: Provide Valid Receipt of Computer System Received
After receiving the portable computer system, the student, parent, or guardian must submit a valid receipt of the system received to the Education Department through the respective Head of the Institute.
