Application Process
Online - via CSC
- Building and construction workers can register or renew their labour card online through the nearest Jan Suvidha Kendra or Shramik Suvidha Kendra.
- To apply online, the applicant must submit two passport-size photographs along with the application form. For age verification, any one of the following documents is required: 10th certificate, birth certificate, certificate issued by a medical officer, notarized affidavit of the construction worker, voter identity card, ration card, or a certificate issued by the Village Panchayat Officer, Village Head, or Councillor.
- A certificate of having worked as a construction worker for at least 90 days in the previous year, along with a nomination form for nominating legal heirs, must also be submitted.
- The applicant is further required to provide the Aadhaar card, ration card, Aadhaar-linked bank account details, self-certification or self-declaration form (available only at Jan Suvidha Kendra or Shramik Suvidha Kendra), and Aadhaar cards of dependents. After uploading all the required documents, a registration fee of ₹100/- must be deposited.
- The application is then forwarded to the concerned department. If the documents are verified and found correct, the worker’s details will be entered in the Labour Register, and the registration number assigned will serve as the worker’s official registration number.
- Once the registration is approved, the Registration Officer will issue a Photo Identity Card, which the worker can collect from the Public Service Centre of the concerned department or from the office of the Labour Department. This card is valid for three years.
Renewal Process:
- The application for renewal must be submitted before the completion of three years.
- For every renewal cycle of three years, the construction worker is required to deposit a contribution of ₹100/-. If a worker fails to renew the card within the stipulated time, they will not be eligible to avail the benefits in the future. However, with the permission of the authorized officer, the membership may be reinstated by depositing the outstanding amount. This facility of reinstatement can be availed only twice.
