Details
Laado Protsahan Yojna was launched on August 1, 2024, to foster a positive attitude towards the birth of girls in the state and to improve their health and educational standards. The scheme aims to create a supportive environment for the overall development of girls, eliminate gender discrimination in their upbringing, education, and health, promote institutional deliveries to reduce maternal mortality rates, decrease infant mortality rates among girls, and improve the declining child sex ratio. It also ensures enrollment and retention of girls in schools, guarantees higher education for girls, and aims to reduce child marriages. Under this scheme, a commitment letter of ₹1 lakh is provided at the birth of a girl child, with a total payment of ₹1.5 lakh made in 7 installments directly to the beneficiary's bank account.

Eligibility
The scheme is applicable to all families with a girl child born on or after August 1, 2024. Families must ensure that the girl child is enrolled in school and that her health is monitored.
