Khelmahakumbh was initiated in 2010, the golden jubilee year of Gujarat State, inspired by the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The scheme has seen a steady increase in the number of players participating each year, reflecting the growing interest in sports among the people of Gujarat. Khelmahakumbh has been successfully organized to promote sports and athletic talent in the state.
