According to the budget announcement for the year 2024-25, point no. 31, the Khadi and Gramodyog Promotion Scheme will provide loans and interest assistance to selected Khadi institutions/committees. There are 177 registered Khadi institutions/committees operating in the state, primarily engaged in the production of Khadi textiles. By linking Khadi institutions/committees with cottage and medium-scale industries, approximately 50 Khadi institutions/committees will be provided loans and assistance, creating employment for about 5-25 individuals per institution, thereby providing jobs to around 1500-2000 unemployed individuals in the state. This scheme aims to enable Khadi institutions/committees to produce and sell not only Khadi products but also high-quality village industry goods in the current competitive era. The Deputy Chief Minister has announced the approval for providing loans and assistance to selected Khadi institutions/committees under the Khadi and Gramodyog Promotion Scheme for the year 2024-25. As per the budget announcement, loans and assistance will be provided in the form of interest subsidy on bank loans, either the actual interest or 8 percent, whichever is lower.
