The Journalist Financial Assistance Facility, established under the Rajasthan Journalist and Literary Welfare Fund Rules, 2001, has been implemented across Rajasthan since October 2, 2001. A corpus fund of ₹1,00,00,000 (one crore rupees) was created for the welfare of journalists, writers, and individuals associated with the arts, as per the state government's order dated November 30, 2000. The management of the fund is overseen by a committee formed by the state government, with members appointed by the government. Currently, the formation of the committee is in process. Financial assistance is provided to journalists and writers, or dependents of deceased journalists and writers, based on specific priorities and is limited to one individual at a time. Assistance is available for those suffering from terminal illnesses, unemployment due to health issues, and elderly individuals without other income sources. Dependents of deceased journalists and writers, such as spouses, unemployed sons under 28, unmarried daughters, and parents without other income sources, are also eligible for financial aid. The application process requires submission of a prescribed form to the Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations, Rajasthan, Jaipur, with recommendations from relevant associations.
