The "Jharkhand Patrakar Samman Pension Niyamawali" was launched by the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Jharkhand. Objective:
To support retired full-time journalists by offering a monthly pension and recognizing their dedication and service in the field of journalism.
Scope:
The scheme applies to journalists across Jharkhand and includes provisions for family pensions for their dependents after their demise.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand.
- The applicant should be a journalist.
- The applicant should have an employee as a full-time journalist/media professional for a minimum of 20 years in Jharkhand or undivided Bihar (pre-November 15, 2000).
- The applicant should not be a pension beneficiary from any other media institution or government.
- The applicant should have retired at the age of 58 or as per the retirement norms of the media organization.
- The applicant should have an accreditation certificate issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations at the time of retirement.
- The applicant must not have any criminal convictions leading to imprisonment of more than two years.

Application Process
Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should visit (during office hours) the District Differently Abled Welfare Officer and request a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the staff exclusively entrusted to issue and collect filled-in applications or the official online portal.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the Director, Information and Public Relations Department, Jharkhand.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
