Details

IStart is an initiative under the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C) of Rajasthan, aimed at supporting startups. A startup is defined as an entity that develops a business model based on innovation and aims for commercial success. According to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), a startup is recognized for up to ten years from its incorporation or registration, provided it meets certain criteria, including being a private limited company, partnership firm, or limited liability partnership in India. The entity's turnover must not exceed one hundred crore rupees, and it should focus on innovation, development, or improvement of products, processes, or services. The initiative is sector agnostic, encouraging innovative solutions in various fields such as social and clean-tech, mobile and information technology, and more. Women-led startups, defined as those with a woman as Founder, Co-Founder, or CXO, are also recognized under this scheme.

Benefits

  • - Sustenance Allowance: Eligible startups at the Idea/Prototype stage receive a grant of INR 10,000 per month for one year, post-approval by the Committee and Nodal Institution

Eligibility

Startups must be incorporated as a private limited company, partnership firm, or limited liability partnership in India. They should be within ten years of incorporation, have a turnover not exceeding one hundred crore rupees, and focus on innovation or scalable business models. Women-led startups are also eligible.

Exclusions

Entities formed by splitting up or reconstructing an existing business are not considered startups.
